Frederick County, MD, Health Department Death Records

The true origins of these records seem to have been lost to history. What is known is that between December 1938 and January 1981, vital records were maintained by the Frederick County, MD, Health Department, related to people who died in this county. From a genealogical perspective, these death records provided valuable information about the decedent. The records reported the following:

Date of Death
Name
Address
Year of Birth and/or Age at Death
Sex
Race

Shortly after January 1981, these death records were donated by the Frederick County Health Department to the Register of Wills office at the Frederick County Courthouse. The intent of the donation was to make this information publically available to genealogical researchers.

With the permission of the Register of Wills office, I’ve decided to post my personal copy of these Frederick County, MD, Health Department Death Records here on my website for your review.
